SOLAR PV & ENERGY CHECK FOR HOMEOWNERS
Solar panels, heat pump, energy performance certificate, heating, roof: homeowners currently face many questions and many new rules. For the solar PV & energy check, I personally inspect your house in Düsseldorf as a graduate engineer and certified expert for solar PV systems, and tell you clearly where it stands and what makes sense next.
Visual inspection of modules, inverter and cabling, plausibility of yields and visible damage.
Feed-in tariff and when it ends, grid operator, entry in the Market Master Data Register (Marktstammdatenregister), storage and maintenance contract.
Is a certificate available and still valid? What energy efficiency class does the house have, and is it a demand-based or consumption-based EPC?
Age and type of heating, what the new Building Modernisation Act (Gebäudemodernisierungsgesetz) means for your house and whether a heat pump is suitable: flow temperature, radiators, space for the outdoor unit and how it works together with your solar PV system.
Is a major roof renovation due? Then, since 1 January 2026, NRW generally requires solar PV when the roof covering is completely renewed (exceptions are possible). I check what is feasible on your roof.
Which of these affects the market value, and which measure pays off first? This is where I combine technical knowledge with market expertise.
PART OF THE CHECK

Funding: owner-occupiers can currently receive grants of up to 70% via the KfW, or up to 80% on a low income; cuts have been announced from February 2027. You can find a detailed comparison of all types including costs under Heat pumps comparedCalculators.
Something missing? No problem. I note anything that is not available in the result, and we work out together how you can obtain it. You can find all documents for a later sale in the House sale checklist (PDF).
No. The solar PV & energy check is an expert inventory of the current condition. For a subsidised energy consultation, such as an individual renovation roadmap, accredited energy efficiency experts are responsible. If you wish, I can point you in the right direction.
No. Many owners simply want to know where their house stands. If you consider selling later, the check already gives you a good basis.
That depends on the property and scope, for example whether there is a solar PV system. You will receive the price in advance, before I visit you.
For a one- or two-family house, usually one to two hours, depending on the system and documents.
I assess the system as a certified expert and identify irregularities. An electrical inspection and measurement according to VDE is carried out by a qualified electrical contractor. If this is necessary, I will tell you.
The solar PV & energy check is an expert inventory of the current condition. It does not replace a subsidised energy consultation, an electrical inspection according to VDE, or legal or tax advice. Legal requirements change; the situation on the day of the appointment applies.
